Trend : Skiing at the height of fashion

Description

For several seasons, many luxury fashion brands have slalomed into the world of skiing with great force. Creativity is now invited on white snow with designers who are inspire by the mountain universe in proposing their outerwear pieces. Most recently it's the label Dsquared2, which has launched a collection combining style and functionality, notably with a denim protector. Fendi launches its skiwear, with a collection that takes over the signature codes of the house, fur, colour and humour, combining technical constraints and elegance. For several years now, Chanel imposes it's double C on the snowy slopes. Lacoste, first brand to position itself between a sporty and fashionable label which shows during New York fashion week, took the universe of Ski as a source of inspiration for its last winter collection. Another strong trend, with the brands specializing in winter sports which made the puffa jacket ultra-trendy even on the pavement. This is the case with Moncler, the French house founded in 1952 has gone from technical clothing to urban clothing under the impression of the Italian Remo Ruffini who took command in 2003 and who, since then, is undertaking the labels transformation into a high-end fashion brand under the artistic direction of Giambattista Valli and Thom Browne. Designers are serving a brand to develop innovative collections, this is the case with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and the Rossignol house, who mixes utility and aestheticism with a nod to Mondrian, using primary colours and an arty spirit dear to the designer. The specialised brands find a second youth, like Pyrenex, a house founded in 1859 which reinterprets their famous quilt blouson, another essential for the modern sportswoman, invites itself into our working girl wardrobe surfing on the latest trends. The latest, Fulsap the fashion reference for high end ski clothes since 1952, comes back into the sunlight under the impulsion of its new artistic director Mathilde Lacoste. In 2 seasons the Savoyard brand specialises in stirrup trousers, proposing an inspired ready to wear line. The mountain inspires…even photographers like Mario Testino who shot the last Dolce & Gabbana campaign light blue, raising the temperature a few notches! On the slopes or in town it is the new ultra-trendy principle.Interviews : Remo Ruffini :It's always this idea of mixing sport and quite cross country clothes also, it was this idea of the borders between sport and high fashion, it's more and more mixed, so it's a reflection of that. Felipe Oliveira Baptista :On est proche de l'univers de la montagne mais avec une approche différente, c'est plus sophistiquée, plus sportif, la montagne c'est important pour nous, cela fait partie de nos racines.
