A link between the Zika virus and neurological disorders deepens as scientists discover microcephaly and Guillain-Barre syndrome may be the most obvious diseases caused by the virus.
The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul on Sunday announced that it had suspended the use of a larvicide used to control mosquitos that carry the Zika virus, after a group of Argentinian physicians posited a link between the chemical and the rise in cases of microcephaly in Brazil, Spanish news agency EFE reported.
The EU's medicines regulator says it cannot rule out a link between the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine and a rare clotting disorder, despite insisting the vaccine is safe. SOUNDBITE
