The only thing the men from God's Pocket can't forgive... is not being from ... God's Pocket In UK and Irish cinemas from August 8 A film by John Slattery, Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christina Hendricks, Richard Jenkins, John Turturro and Eddie Marsan Mickey (Philip Seymour-Hoffman) makes ends-meet by partaking in petty crime and gambling, with his friend Arthur (John Turturro), and then spending most of it in the local flea-pit bar before stumbling home to his long-suffering wife Jeanie (Christina Hendricks). When his mentally unstable step-son, Leon, is killed by a co-worker on a construction site - a crime that is quickly covered up and explained away as an 'accident', nobody in the depressed blue collar neighborhood of God's Pocket is particularly sorry, except of course his own mother. Mickey tries to bury the bad news along with the body, but when Jeanie demands the truth, Mickey finds himself stuck in a struggle between a body he can't bury, a wife he can't please and a debt he can't pay. "A brash black comedy. It has a dark heart that stays beating" **** Henry Barnes, The Guardian.
"Hilarious and thought provoking" -- Bizarre Magazine "Funny, sharp and ruthless" -- Philip French, The Observer "See this!" -- Keith Lemon "A black, bright and very British comedy" -- Dave Aldridge, BBC Radio 5 "Smartly Done" -- The Sunday Mirror Baz (Kevin Bishop) is one of Britain's new breed of police, a cycle cop. Although he appears to be a figure of fun, a freak accident turns him into a psychopath... As riots break out in London, a head injury changes Baz from an everyday police officer into a mad vigilante, offering no-hope criminals a stark choice, arrest or death. Baz sees this campaign as 'lawful killing'.Criminals too stunned, confused, or drunk to argue are politely asked, "May I kill you?" and merrily dispatched on their final journey. All these exchanges are recorded on Baz' helmet-cam and posted anonymously on social networks. Using the alter ego '@N4cethelaw' Baz acquires an increasing number of fans with each killing, dispensing justice to scumbags, cleaning up society like some bizarre and deadly 'Robin Hood', ridding society of its' ills. But, in a sudden reversal, Baz is captured by an enraged relative of one of his presumed "kills" and faces slaughter or even worse... exposure. Starring actor/comedian Kevin Bishop as Baz, alongside a strong supporting cast which includes star of stage and screen Francis Barber as his domineering mother. Hailed by critics as a hit of Film4 Frightfest 2012, May I Kill U? will be released on DVD by Vectis Vision and distributed in the UK by Eureka Entertainment on 15 April 2013. Originally lost in an archive in Sweden for 30 years until its recent discovery, Danny Glover presents Black Power Mixtape, a compilation feature documentary film that illustrates the story of the African-American community between the years 1967-1975.
