Depuis trois ans, Betty Losson et Virginie Pinlou cultivent des crocus sativus ou fleurs de safran à Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. Elles sont en pleine période de cueillette -quasi quotidienne- de "l'or rouge", cette précieuse plante aux nombreuses vertus médicinales. Tout est fait à la main : du désherbage du champ à la cueillette fleur après fleur, à l'émondage, au séchage des pistils et au conditionnement.
