The Zoo of Copenhagen has released footage of a baby elephant which was born last week in captivity as part of a European breeding program for Asian elephants. The mother is 16 year old Maha Kumari and the fathers name is Fahim. The name and gender of the baby elephant aren't known yet. Calves weight in beetween 70 and 90kg at birth after spending 22 months in their mothers wombs, the longest gestation in the animal kindom. Elephant births in zoos are relatively rare with a total number of 18 worldwide in 2023 IMAGES
China's first domestically produced passenger jet C919 makes its international debut at the Singapore Airshow, the largest aviation event in Asia. The giant panda Tian Tian, on loan from China to the Washington Zoo, is busy in his pen the day after the birth of the baby panda he had with Mei Xiang. She was artificially inseminated on March 22 with Tian Tian's frozen semen. IMAGES
French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire rings the opening bell at the ceremony to float shares of France's state-owned lottery monopoly Française des Jeux (FDJ)on the Paris Stock Exchange.
