Anxious parents wait for news outside a primary school in central Kenya, after an overnight fire in a dormitory kills at least 17 children and injured several others. Police say the blaze in Nyeri county's Hillside Endarasha Academy broke out at around midnight, while the children were sleeping. There are fears there could be more victims in the damaged building. Some 800 pupils, between the ages of roughly five and 12 attend the institution. IMAGES
Parents wait to collect their children from a school in the French town of Souffelweyersheim, in the east of France, after an assailant wounded two girls aged six and 11 in a knife attack near the premises.
