BMC pioneered the blueprint of the modern all-round race bike more than 10 years ago with its Teammachine. What’s more, the bike has been consistently improved in each of its four iterations. That has kept it at the cutting edge of a particularly refined and competitive bike category since 2010. As such the Teammachine SLR01 Disc was crowned as the winner of Cyclist’s ‘Best of the Best All-Round Bikes’ award, 2021. In this video, Cyclist tech editor Sam Challis details exactly what makes the Teammachine worthy of the accolade. Cyclist’s ‘Best of the Best’ awards are totally independent editorial decisions. This video was funded by BMC to support the written editorial already published in Cyclist issue 111. In this week’s episode of the Cyclist Magazine Podcast James is joined by Phil Burt, former head of physiotherapy at British Cycling and Team Sky and the man who literally wrote the book on bike fit. They discuss micro adjusters and macro absorbers, how riders’ needs and wants are changing, and the affect of indoor cycling on the body. Phil also explains the theory behind the use of shorter cranks, the advantages, and how Bradley Wiggins was already on 165mm cranks at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Head to philburtinnovation.co.uk to find out more about Phil’s work and to make an assessment or bike fit booking. 0:00 Introduction 2:12 Interview with bike fit expert Phil Burt 55:04 Discussing bike fits with James & Will Subscribe to Cyclist magazine: http://store.cyclist.co.uk/cycpod You can find more articles on our website: http://cyclist.co.uk/ Follow us on Twitter: http://x.com/cyclist Like our Facebook page: http://facebook.com/CyclistMag/ Find us on Instagram: http://instagram.com/cyclist_mag/
