Spanish firefighters battle a wildfire that has already burnt more than 1.500 hectares in Valverdejo, near Cuenca, Western Spain. The fire, which is still not under control, remains under a high level of vigilance, while temperatures are very high. For the time being, the flames are not threatening the surrounding population. A huge, fast-moving and rapidly growing wildfire in northern California is damaging homes and has forced more than 4,000 people to evacuate as firefighters battle gusty winds and perilously dry conditions, authorities have said.
