Dozens of protesters take to the streets of Senegal's capital after two Senegalese opposition figures were arrested. Barthelemy Dias and Ousmane Sonko, both fierce critics of President Macky Sall, were detained as they headed in a motorcade to the appeals court in Dakar for a hearing involving Dias' conviction in a fatal shooting. Senegal has deployed armoured cars in the capital Dakar after days of deadly protests, as supporters of detained opposition leader Ousmane Sonko held fresh demonstrations. A judge has ordered Sonko's release, though he has been formally charged with rape. He says the charges are politically motivated. IMAGES
Clashes break out between supporters of Senegalese opposition figure Ousmane Sonko and security forces as Sonko made his way to a court for a hearing on charges of rape against him.
