The United States wants the war between Israel and Hamas to "end as soon as possible," the White House says, after Israel's defense minister told a top US official the conflict would last several months more. "How long that's going to take? I can't predict...but obviously we all want it to be over as soon as possible," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby tells reporters in a briefing. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says the United States will require foreign travelers flying into the US to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 from "early November," as Washington announced it will ease travel restrictions imposed 18 months ago by Donald Trump. SOUNDBITE
President Joe Biden will address the nation Wednesday on his plans to pull US troops out of Afghanistan later this year, says Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
