IOC chief says taking stance on Peng Shuai 'could spell end of Olympics'

Description

Thomas Bach says that if the International Olympic Committee took a stance over concern for Peng Shuai, it would mean "politicisation of the Olympic Games" which could lead to "the end of the Olympic Games". Peng made sexual assault accusations against a former politician and was not heard from for nearly three weeks, while her claims were rapidly censored. She later appeared on state media in several videos and held a video call with Bach in which she said she was safe and well, however concerns remain. SOUNDBITE
