Google’s self-driving Lexus SUV has been involved in a serious car crash last Friday with its front right door completely smashed.
Google has taught its self-driving cars how to honk in the most polite way. The self-driving cars were taught how to distinguish the difference between false alarms, such as a person making a three-point turn, and dangerous situations like someone driving down the wrong side of the road.
Google has patented a new technology that can reduce injuries to pedestrians when they’re hit by self-driving cars.
Delphi Automotive hopes their self-driving car will travel across the country on Sunday. The Audi SQ5 will travel 3,500 miles from San Francisco, California to New York City, New York. It is the first coast-to-coast trip by an autonomous vehicle, and arguably the longest automated drive ever attempted.
