A study of sexual assaults based on the testing of nearly 5,000 backlogged rape kits in Cleveland has revealed that serial rapists are far more common than imagined.
Scientists never would have expected the Amazon River — surging with with more runoff and sediment than any other river in the world — to hold an ecosystem as fragile as a coral reef. But, an international team including scientists from the University of Georgia and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro found a huge 3,600-square-mile reef system just below the Amazon’s muddy waters.
A study published in Nature Geoscience claims the U.S.’ effort to cut ozone levels have gone to waste due to pollution arriving on the west coast from China. Observations of the phenomena were made using satellites coupled with computer models of how air-borne molecules travel in the lower atmosphere.
