The trial of a French researcher accused of violating Russia's "foreign agent" law begins in Moscow amid simmering tensions with Paris over Ukraine. Laurent Vinatier, who worked on conflict mediation for a Swiss NGO and was arrested in June, appears in a glass cage for defendants at Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky court as the trial opens. Former dictator Moussa Dadis Camara is sentenced to twenty years' imprisonment for crimes against humanity, for his responsibility in the 28 September 2009 massacre in Guinea.
