A Super Blue Moon rises over Sao Paulo skyline. The "blue supermoon" that rises on August 19, 2024, is the unification of a super Moon and a blue Moon. The term "blue Moon" has nothing to do with color but refers to the third full Moon in an astronomical season of four. Blue Origin launches its New Shepard rocket carrying six adventurers to the final frontier for the first time in nearly two years, reigniting competition in the space tourism market after a rocket mishap put its crewed operations on hold.
