Chinese shopping app Temu faces stricter EU safety rules

Description

Brussels adds the Chinese shopping app Temu to its list of digital firms big enough to face curbs, meaning the company will have to comply with stringent new safety rules. Temu joins AliExpress, Amazon, Shein and others known as "very large" platforms which face greater oversight under the EU Digital Services Act, including monitoring "risks related to the listing and sale of counterfeit goods", the official at the European Commission told AFP.
