Swimming : How to Perform a Breaststroke Turn

Description

The swimmer touches the wall after the last leg movement while swimming with two hands. Two rotate after touching the wall one of the hands point in the direction of the opposite wall. When you do this movement your legs will move under your torso and the feet move to touch the wall. At the same time the second hand joins the first hand but it moves over the surface. Push your body away with your feed and slide forwards. After your feet pushed away from the wall your body is still rotating to turn onto your belly. When you get back to the surface you start crawling again.

  • Swimming - How to Swim Breaststroke

The movement for the breast stroke is the same as the basic swim technique. Start to move your legs. To do this by bending your knees and your heels towards your buttocks. Turn the arch of your feet towards the outside and push your legs sidewards, stretch the legs behind you before you start the movement again. At the same time you put your arms straight in front of you. And push the water sideways while bending your elbows until your shoulders, and start the movement again. The breathing technique is very simple. Your head goes briefly under the water when your arms and legs are stretched. After moving your arms to the side again your head comes out of the water. While under the water you exhale. This way of swimming is good to release tension on the neck, which happens when your head is always above the water, like in the basic technique.
