EU probes Facebook, Instagram over child protection

Description

The EU opens a formal investigation into Facebook and Instagram on suspicion the platforms owned by Meta are causing addictive behaviour in children. EU spokesperson Johanna Bernsel explains the the probe will give the bloc "the power to take some enforcement actions" against the US tech giant. SOUNDBITE

Former BBC presenter Huw Edwards arrives at court on child sexual images charges

Former BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, one of the most recognisable faces on UK television, arrives at court charged with three counts of making indecent images of children. Edwards resigned from the BBC in April on "medical advice", six months after he was initially arrested, and was charged on June 26.
