Une BYD vient de battre un record de vitesse. L’ancien record de 4042,010 km/h, détenu par une Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300, est tombé face à une voiture 100 % électrique de série. Il s’agit de la Yangwang U9 Extrême, la marque de luxe de BYD, limitée à seulement 30 exemplaires. Dotée de quatre moteurs développant près de 3000 chevaux, d’une architecture en 1200 volts et d’un régime moteur pouvant atteindre 30 000 tours/minute, elle a réussi à atteindre la vitesse incroyable de 4042,016 km/h. Pour donner une idée, cela représente plus de 10 fois la vitesse d’Usain Bolt, et environ la moitié de celle d’un avion de ligne. Cet exploit a été réalisé par le pilote allemand Mark Besang sur une piste d’essai spécialement adaptée, lors d’un live où on a pu le voir exploser de joie. Et ce n’est pas tout : cette hypercar électrique a aussi signé un second record sur la mythique boucle nord du Nürburgring, avec un temps impressionnant de 6 minutes et 59 secondes.
