The former president of France Nicolas Sarkozy leaves his home to go to the criminal court of Paris which is due to give its judgement in the "wiretapping" case in which he and his lawyer Thierry Herzog were tried for influence-peddling and corruption. They are accused of having tried to obtain from a high-ranking magistrate, Gilbert Azibert, information covered by secrecy in legal proceedings in exchange for support in obtaining a position in Monaco. In November-December 2020, the Public Prosecutor's Office requested four years in prison, two of which were to be served, against the three men. Thailand's most popular politician Pita Limjaroenrat leaves the Constitutional Court in Bangkok after he was banned from politics for 10 years and his party dissolved over his attempt to reform the kingdom's royal defamation laws.
